The Branch has several copies of the latest Good Beer Guide (out today 24th September). The Members price is £13 and copies will be available to buy at the next 3 socials.

The Branch had a very enjoyable day on Saturday 12 September visiting four out of the way pubs. We started from High Barnet and after driving down several country lanes arrived at the Rose & Crown outside Rickmansworth. Three ales were available here being from Chiltern, Vale and Harveys. The weather was fine so we sat out in the garden.

A short drive later and we arrived at the Land of Liberty at Heronsgate where we were welcomed by the pub dog. The pub is a regular winner of Camra awards. Here there were 4 well kept ales and one mild on offer.

We then moved on to the Crown at Ley Hill. Three fairly standard ales were on offer but the pub was in a relaxing spot.

A mere 5 minutes away was the Hen & Chickens which for most people was the highlight of the trip. The building is centuries old and was originally a small barn connected to two cottages. Two Rebellion ales were on. The team photo is taken at this pub.

A dash back to High Barnet saw some of the group adjourn to Ye Olde Mitre for a final pint. Another very successful trip and thanks go to Simon and Tricia for organising it.

This is to confirm that Enfield and Barnet branch will hold their AGM on Tuesday 16th June at 8pm, at the Old Wheatsheaf, 3 Windmill Hill, Enfield EN2 6SE. The meeting will be held in 'The Vault' function room at the rear of the pub. Please arrive in plenty of time to order a drink and register so that the meeting can start promptly at 8pm. At the AGM you can learn more about the workings of the branch and vote on the election of Officers

We are pleased to announce that the result of our annual competition has been to award the 2026 Pub of the Year to The Little Green Dragon Ale House of Green Lanes, Winchmore Hill .

Congratulations to Richard and his team on this achievement. There will be a presentation at the pub during our social there on Tuesday 21 April after 20.00.

The pub will now go forward to the 2026 Greater London Pub of The Year Competition standing against other Branches Pubs.
