A successful day out was had by the 12 participants on this trip. Starting from High Barnet we went to the Strathmore Arms, St Paul's Walden, Red Lion, Preston, The Local micropub in Markyate (who opened especially for us) and finally the Woodman at Wildhill. The ales on offer at the various pubs ranged from porters and stouts to reds, pales and goldens, many from local breweries. The Landlord at The Local is a dark ale enthusiast so as well as having a couple of dark beers on cask he had an excellent selection of bottled ales which some of us were tempted to buy. For those of us still thirsty, the minibus dropped us off at Ye Olde Mitre in Barnet. Below is a selection of photos from the day. We hope to arrange a similar outing in the future.
